Hello everyone :)
Finally I read this wonderful book and watched the movie! I know I'm really retarded but I didn't managed to read it before and I didn't want to watch the movie before I read the book.
I read the german book, even if I'm thinking about reading it a second time but in english than...we'll see. :P
Let me just say: I only had more or less three days until I read the whole book. It's definitely one of my favorite books now. I love it.
What I love the most is that while reading you laugh and you cry, so it's a mixture of feelings. I cried a lot, like literally a lot. I think I never cried so much while reading a book, which should mean something.
I bet everyone out there knows either the book or the movie. But I still decided to do a post about it, because I like to share the things I love.
About the story:
Hacel Grace Lancester, a girl who is 16 years old, has cancer since a couple of years now. Because of her cancer she's got a lot of problems with her lung and her breathing is really bad. That's also why she needs to carry around a little "trunk" with a bottle of oxygen, which is attached to her nose with a tube.
Because of her illness she actually never goes outside and does something with other people, so her mother decided to bring her to a self-help group, where she than met Augustus Waters, also called Gus. They learn to know each other a lot. And than exchange they're favorite book so the other person can read it and that's where a big adventure starts. As they start to fall in love for each other something really bad happens.
If you want to know what, you should check out either the book or the movie. :)
The movie is done in a perfect way I think. You get to cry as much as in the book, if you're emotional obviously. :P
I evaluate this books with 5 stars, because there wasn't one boring part.
