Road Trip to Como, Italy

Hello everybody!

In February this year I was in Como, Italy with two of my friends. We had so much fun and saw a lot of beautiful places/monuments there.
I just realized that I totally forgot to post anything and any picture so I want to do this know.
Please be aware that the pictures are more or less all made with my phone so they're not the best quality. But since it was an awesome trip, I still wanted to share this experience on my blog.

Hallo Zusammen!

Im Februar war ich mit zwei Freunden in Como, Italien. Wir hatten wirklich viel Spass dort und besichtigten viele schöne Orte/ Monumente. Mir ist erst grad vor kurzem aufgefallen dass ich noch gar keinen Post und keine Bilder von dieser Reise gepostet habe. Da es meiner Meinung nach aber zu schade wäre dies gar nicht mehr zu tun, möchte ich jetzt noch mein Erlebnis mit euch teilen.

Da wir ja in Italien waren könnt ihr euch bestimmt vorstellen das wir super leckere Sachen gegessen haben. Ein Post über das Essen in Como ist allerdings bereits seit einer Weile auf meinem Blog online. EN || Como Cathedral
The Cathedral of Como is a church that was first built in the 1396. In the 14. century they decided to make a reconstruction of it, instead of a renovation and finally "La Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta" stood there.
With his 87m of length, a height of 75m and 45m (75m the dome and 45m the front) and a width of 58m it occupied a big part of the streets near the lake.
The inside of the Cathedral is animated with a lots of artwork and adorned with many gold.
With all of that the Cathedral is a big eye-catcher and a Must for everybody. We visited it more than once because we were so fascinated of it. :)

DE || Dom zu Como
Der Dom zu Como ist eine Kathedrale die bereits seit dem 1396 dort stand. Im 14. Jahrhundert, beschlossen sie sich dann statt eine Renovierung direkt einen Neubau zu machen und es entstand "La Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta".
Mit seinen ganzen 87m länge, einer höhe von 75m und 45m (75m die Kuppel und 45m die Fassade) und einer breite von 58m besetzt sie einen grossen Teil gleich wenige Meter neben dem See.
Das Innere der Kathedrale ist mit unglaublich vielen Kunstwerken belebt und mit extrem viel Gold geschmückt.
Die Kathedrale ist echt ein Hingucker und ein Muss für jedermann. Wir gingen sogar mehrere Male rein, da wir so fasziniert davon waren. :)

EN || Lake of Como
The lake of Como is a really beautiful lake to take a beautiful walk in the nature. As it's not too big you can really walk around the lake. It's near the center of Como which makes it a lot more beautiful to go visit the center by walking along the lake first. You can also take some boat tours (which we suddenly didn't because we weren't there the day they did that..). There are also lots of Restaurants and bars were you have a view on the lake.

DE || Der Comer See
Der Comer See ist ein wirklich wunderschöner See welcher einem richtig schöne Spaziergänge dem See entlang ermöglicht. Da er nicht all zu gross ist, kann man wirklich rund herum laufen und die Stadt von allen Seiten betrachten. Der See ist neben dem Zentrum, was alles noch viel schöner macht. Der Weg bis zum Zentrum kann man von daher auch am See entlang machen (natürlich wenn man auch von dieser Seite her kommt). Man kann auch Boot Touren machen (was wir leider verpasst haben, da sie es an diesem Tag nicht anboten...). Es gibt auch sehr viele Restaurants und Bars welche einem einen wundervollen Seeblick bieten.

EN || The Funicular of Como
On one side of the lake you can take a road on the funicular. If you have nice weather you can than see down on the lake. Unfortunately we toked it when it wasn't the best weather so we couldn't see too much. Once your up you can have a drink at the bar right next to the funicular. You can also walk there and see a tons of other monuments. As we hadn't too much time because we were only staying for a weekend, we didn't walked too long and missed a couple of monuments. But if you have time, do it. It should be great.

DE || Die Standseilbahn
Auf einer Seite vom See gibt es die Möglichkeit eine kleine Tour mit der Standseilbahn zu fahren. Bei schönem Wetter hat man einen wunderschönen Seeblick. Leider besichtigten wir die Aussicht der Standseilbahn bei nicht so tollem Wetter, weshalb sie auch sehr beschränkt war. Einmal oben angekommen kann man sich einen Drink bei der Bar gerade neben der Bahn gönnen. Ganz oben gibt es aber auch einen Weg, der zu duzend anderen Monumenten führt. Da wir nur beschränkt Zeit hatten und nur über einem Wochenende dort waren, verpassten wir einige Monumente und spazierten dort nur kurz diesen Weg. Falls ihr mal dort seid und Zeit habt, empfehle ich euch aber denn Weg zu gehen. Es soll wirklich noch schöne Monumente haben.
